The Metal Gear Solid series of video games have been renowned throughout the world as an exception series that has even won many awards. Stealth, action, and adventure are key aspects of the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection. Naked Snake must navigate through the scenes throughout the jungle to stop their evil plan, end the war, and bring the world back to peace. The challenge in this game involves two colonels who are attempting to overthrow Nikita Khrushchev (a real-life Soviet Union politician) and seize power for various corrupted Communist leaders.

Throughout the game, Naked Snake is accompanied by fellow fox members to help him with various challenges along the way. Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater is set within a 1960s Soviet jungle which is a distinct change from the high tech and futuristic stylings of previous MGS games. This character attempts to rescue a weapons designer, sabotage an experimental superweapon, and assassinate his defected former boss. Throughout the game, he goes by his codename, Naked Snake. Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater for PlayStation Vita within this collection is set in 1964 and revolves around a former Green Beret turned CIA agent assigned to unit FOX named David Hayter. Players navigate with Raiden through a variety of scenes in a stealthy fashion to defeat the terrorists, rescue the president, and keep the world safe. Players act as a young rookie agent named Raiden who works alongside his commanding officer, the Colonel, and his girlfriend, Rosemary. If their ransom is not paid, they have threatened to destroy the facility which would also create a cataclysmic environmental disaster. It has been seized by a group of terrorists who go by the name “Sons of Liberty.” This group has kidnapped the President of the United States and are demanding a massive ransom. The plot of Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty for PS Vita within this collection revolves around the “Big Shell” which is a massive offshore clean-up facility. All of the Metal Gear Solid (MGS) games are action adventure stealth games that are played in a single-player setting. The PS Vita version had a 2012 release date worldwide which was ported by Armature Studio. In 2013 it was also released in Europe and Australia. It was released for PlayStation 3 (PS3) and Xbox 360 in North America and Japan in 2012.

It was produced by Hideo Kojima and published by Konami. The Metal Gear Solid HD Collection was developed by Kojima Productions with artwork done by Yoji Shinkawa. The Japanese version also included Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, which was released as a separate game in other countries.

This HD collection set includes the highly received Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty and Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater.
